Polls: Obama Widens His Lead Over McCainThe Democratic Party’s White House nominee, Barack Obama has widened his lead over his Republican rival, John McCain – say the recent Obama versus McCain polls.

Gallup Poll Daily tracking conducted from 6 June to 8 June shows Obama leading McCain by 6 % points – 48% to 42% among the registered voters nationwide. Obama leads McCain 51% to 38% in the Gallup polling of 2,263 registered female voters June 5-9.   

Gallup said Wednesday that the 13-percentage-point lead among women was up from 5 points the previous week, before the Democratic nomination ended. Obama now matches Clinton's performance against McCain.

Rasmussen Reports Tracking poll released on 9 June shows Obama leading McCain by 6 % points – 50% to 44% among the registered voters nationwide. Obama leads 52% to 39% among women in a Rasmussen Reports poll of 3,000 likely voters June 8-10. The polls' margins of error is +/— 2 to 3 percentage points.

The NBC/Journal poll of 1,000 voters, conducted from Friday through Monday, shows Obama leading McCain by 12 % points – 54% to 42% among the registered voters nationwide. The survey has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
