Washington, Sept 28 : A day after Sarah Palin's attorney threatened to sue over an unfavorable biography, its publisher has announced that it is standing by the work and author Joe McGinniss.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Crown Publishers backed McGinniss and his recently published book, `The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin'.

"We are confident that the reporting in `The Rogue' is solid, reliable, and well-substantiated. We stand by our publication and our author," CBS News quoted Crown Publishers spokesman Stuart Applebaum as saying in an emailed statement.

Palin's attorney John Tiemessen, in a letter to Crown Publishing Group Monday, had claimed that the book defames the Palins and contains "lies and rumors".

He cited an email McGinniss reportedly sent a blogger in January seeking substantiation for several rumors that have surrounded Palin''s family. (ANI)
