Washington, May 27 : Republican candidate Mitt Romney would reportedly announce his 2012 presidential bid next week.

Romney would make the announcement on June 2 at the Stratham farm of Doug and Stella Scamman, longtime GOP activists, in New Hampshire, Politico reports.

The former Massachusetts governor owns a house in the state, and announced his exploratory committee at the University of New Hampshire.

A poll conducted by Dartmouth College''s Nelson A. Rockefeller Center last month had shown that voters in New Hampshire supported Romney over President Barack Obama.

Romney had received 47 percent votes to Obama''s 39 percent.

Besides, a Pew Research poll had earlier revealed that 24 percent of Tea Party supporters favoured Romney as their top choice for President in 2012. (ANI)
