Sarah Silverman Wins Emmy Award

The Creative Arts Emmys were held last night in Los Angeles. The award function, which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), will be aired on Saturday, September 20 on E!. The event saw few Special names like Cynthia Nixon (Law & Order: SVU), Tim Conway (30 Rock), Sarah Silverman and Kathy Griffin bagging the coveted statue.

HBO's miniseries John Adams and AMC's drama series turned out to be a winner and took away 8 awards. AMC's Mad Men also managed to bag 4 awards.

''I'm F---ing Matt Damon'' by Sarah Silverman was acknowledged for its original music and lyrics.

The Simpsons won its tenth Emmy in the Best Animated Series category and Sci Fi's Battlestar Galactica clinched its second consecutive Emmy for special visual effects.

Cynthia Nixon won Best Guest Actress in a Drama for her work in Law and Order: SVU while Glynn Turman won Best Guest Actor in a Drama for his role in “In Treatment”.

Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, won the Emmy for Best Reality Program for the second year in a row.

Emmy for Special Visual Effects went to Battlestar Galactica.
