One of world''s biggest file-sharing sites busted in US McLean (Virginia, US), Jan. 20 : The U. S. Justice Department has ordered the shutting down of one of the world''s largest file-sharing sites.

It also charged its founder and several company executives with violating piracy laws.

The website allowed users to download films, TV shows, games, music and other content for free, but made money by charging subscriptions to people who wanted access to faster download speeds or extra content. The website also sold advertising.

Fai was released on payment of a 100,000 dollar bond after appearing before the US District Court on Tuesday for a detention hearing, the Dawn reports.

He was arrested last week on charges that he tried to influence the policy of the White House and Congress on Kashmir while working under the supervision of the ISI.

He has told newly- appointed Defense Secretary Leon Panetta that he would stay in his post until his successor assumes charge.

His announcement comes in less than a week after the departure of Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates.

William Lynn has served as Defense Deputy Secretary since 2009, running much of the Pentagon’s day-to-day operations. He previously served as a senior adviser to five secretaries of defense.
