Stomach Virus Sickens 130 USC Students

According the University health officials, highly contagious stomach virus has caused vomiting, diarrhea and cramps among at least 130 USC students.

University spokesman James Grant says that it is not food borne and findings will be confirmed via tests. Dr. Lawrence Neinstein, director of the USC University Park Health Center, remarks that the sickness is contagious with the incubation period of 12 hours, and the suspected virus can be found for several days even after recovery.

For prevention washing of hands is very important. Also infected students must stay back home to avoid spreading the disease. School will restart for classes on Monday, and has ordered 3,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 2,000 containers of sanitizing wipes to distribute.
