STP Reunites To Rock Again

Stone Temple Pilots, popularly abbreviated as STP, staged its first united performance in almost five years on Monday, since its breakup in 2003. Yup, STP, the American rock band comprised of Scott Weiland (vocals), brothers Robert (bass guitar, vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), and Eric Kretz (drums, percussion) took its fans on a nostalgic trip to the '90s’ thru its 30-minute rocking performance set at a peasant setting in the Hollywood Hills.
On Monday, Stone Temple Pilots dished out the loads of tunes, which included opener "Big Empty," "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song," all drawn from STP's second album, 1994's "Purple.
Stone Temple Pilots, the Grammy Award-winning bad has reunited after a five-year breakup and a nearly eight-year absence from concerts. It is reunited for a 65-date tour of North American tour that will begin on May 17, at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.
According to the reports, the reunion plans were already in the works before Weiland's ouster last week from Velvet Revolver, the "supergroup", he ditched Stone Temple Pilots for in 2003. “The story’s not finished….There’s more to be revealed and more to be told,” said the singer Scott Weiland.
Founded in 1987, Stone Temple Pilots broke up in 2003. STP will be heading into the studio in November after their tour to record their sixth album. The band has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.
