It appears from the recent “Obama McCain North Carolina Pre-Election Opinion Polls” that the GOP presidential candidate, John McCain has edge over his Democratic rival Barack Obama in the presidential race in the Tar Heel State.
McCain leads Obama in 4 out of 5 pre-election opinion polls conducted in North Carolina in the current month of August; only one poll conducted by Zogby International favors Obama. The polls were conducted by Survey USA, Rasmussen Reports, Civitas Institute/Tel Opinion Research, Zogby International, and InsiderAdvantage.

Rasmussen Reports’ McCain Obama NC Poll, conducted on Aug 13, showed McCain leading Obama by 6 % points — 50 % to 44 % among the registered voters of North Carolina.
Civitas Institute/Tel Opinion Research’s McCain Obama NC Poll, conducted from Aug 14 to Aug 17, showed McCain leading Obama by 6 % points — 46 % to 40 % among the registered voters of North Carolina.
