According to federal affidavit, Kristen is the high-priced prostitute, who was with Mr. Spitzer on Feb. 13 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. Her real name is Ashley Alexandra Dupre. Law enforcement officials identified the governor as a “Client 9” who had a Feb. 13 tryst with “Kristen” and paid her $4,300.

Spending her last few days at her ninth-floor apartment in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, Ashley Dupre appeared in the federal court, where her lawyer was appointed to represent her on Monday. She is expected to play as a witness in the high profile sex scandal, against the 4 people charged with operating the prostitution ring called the Emperor’s Club V.I.P.

In a series of telephonic interviews on Tuesday night, Ashley told that she had slept very little since the Spitzer’s scandal had come to light. She said, she had slept very little over the past week, with all the stress of the case.

When asked to speak on the Spitzer’s scandal, Ashley said, “I just don't want to be thought of as a monster. This has been a very difficult time. It's complicated.”

While she was asked the questions, such as “When she had started working for the Emperor’s Club? How often she had liaisons arranged through the ring? When she met Governor Spitzer and how many times they had seen each other?” Ashley replied that she had no comment.

She told that she was worried about paying her rent in a ninth-floor Manhattan apartment after she broke up from her boyfriend, after she discovered he had fathered two children. She also told that she was considering working at a friend’s restaurant or, once her apartment lease expires, moving back to her home in New Jersey to relax.

Dupre has not been charged, yet a New York lawyer, Don D. Buchwald has been appointed to represents her. On Monday, her lawyer Don D. Buchwald told a magistrate judge in court that she had been subpoenaed to testify in a grand jury investigation. Dupre answered affirmatively when she was asked to swear that she had accurately filled out and signed a financial affidavit.
