Verizon, Sprint still to roll out Android ‘Jelly bean’ update for Nexus With Google having begun rolling out the Android 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean’ update to GSM/HSPA+ devices last month, AT&T and T-Mobile have already released the updated Android version on their respective Galaxy Nexus versions, while Verizon and T-Mobile subscribers are still to experience the latest version of the Android OS on their Nexus devices.

Verizon and Sprint are still waiting to get the ‘Jelly Bean’ update pushed through to the Google Nexus versions which they are selling, thanks largely to Verizon’s exceedingly exhaustive testing and quality assurance process.

With Google having launched its Nexus range of smartphones with the key motive of enabling the developers to toy around with the latest version of its Android operating system, and the Nexus devices were meant to the first in line to get the ‘Jelly Bean’ update, customers on the Verizon and Sprint are justifiably upset at the carrier’s delay in getting the new Android version aboard their Nexus smartphones.

In fact, what is more frustrating for the Verizon and Sprint subscribers owning the Nexus is that Google as well as both the carriers keep reiterating repeatedly that the ‘Jelly Bean’ upgrade to their devices is coming soon.

Meanwhile, the enhancements that the new Android update brings along include notable improvements to Android OS’ speed and performance; new and sleeker widgets for the home screen; new touchscreen keyboard; expandable notifications; and a more user-friendly app that facilitates the users in viewing and deleting photos.
