The German automaker, Volkswagen has recently released the sketch of its upcoming sedan in the Indian market. Though the company has not given any time for this product, it is believed that the product will hit the roads some time later during this year.

According to the company, the upcoming product has been specifically designed for the Indian market and will be produced from its Greenfield facility at Chakan near Pune. In fact, it is believed that once the company launches this sedan, it will expand the portfolio of Volkswagen India as the company will be able to compete in one of the hottest segments in the Indian automobile industry.

It may be noted here that the new sedan will join the current product portfolio that offers Passat, Jetta, Touareg, New Beetle, Phaeton and the recently launched New Polo. The Polo is running on a waiting of around six months wherein the company has not been able to meet the rising demand of the Indian consumer. Moreover, Volkswagen is also weighing options of offering contract manufacturing at its Chakan plant.
