Women activists organise anti-liquor rally in PatnaPatna, Sep 9 : Women activists under the banner of Durga Dusta organised a protest march in Patna on Wednesday, demanding a ban on the sale of liquor in the state.

The activists raised slogans and held a protest march with the aim women aware of the social evils of alcoholism.

The agitating women demanded a complete ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks in the state and smashed liquor bottles on the road.

"We demand the Government to immediately shut down the liquor shops running in the state. Otherwise today the activists of Durga Dusta are just breaking the bottles of liquor, but tomorrow we can attack the liquor shops," said Neelam Kumari, State Chairman of Durga Dusta.

"We again demand that the government should implement liquor prohibition law and save millions of houses," she added.

The women activists further said that they would intensify their protest if the Government fails to curb sale of alcohol in the state. (ANI)
