Woods' fortune to be probed by wife's private investigator

Tiger Woods Elin NordegrenLondon, Jan 4 : Troubled golfer Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren has hired a private detective to probe the extent of his wealth.

Mirror. co. uk reports that Nordegren, who plans to divorce Woods in California rather than Florida due to the state's more generous laws, wants to know exactly what he is worth.

"Elin knows hiring a Private Investigator is a smart move. Her lawyers want to make sure she gets every penny she's entitled to. Elin is devastated, but now she's decided to end their marriage she has the future of their children to think about," said a source.

She has also hired Sorrell Trope, 82, a partner in Californian law firm Trope and Trope who has represented stars like Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage and Britney Spears.

Woods, 33, the world's highest-paid sportsman, is thought to be worth almost $1 billion and has mansions in Florida and California.

As his fortune is spread across the globe, it makes estimating his true worth difficult.
