150 Raibik Path: A Tripura Documentary Film On Rabindranath Tagore, Given National Recognition

Rabindranath Tagore150 Raibik Path , the first documentary film by Tripura and it has received national recognition from a screening committee. The subject of the documentary film was the life and ideals of the great Rabindranath Tagore and was entitled 150 Raibik Path.

According to an official press release by the screening committee, under the chairmanship of Shyam Benegal, the screening committee has selected 150 Raibik Path for a national screening on Doordarshan. 9 films and documentaries on the Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore, have been selected by the screening committee. The National Implementation Committee (NIC) led by Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, and a national committee led by Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, were formed in order to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The screening committee, in pursuance of the National Implementation Committee, has shortlisted 9 films for this purpose. 150 Raibik Path is included in the final list of 9 film.

Sitangshu Ranjan De, a Tripura journalist, has made this 150 Raibik Path. The young De said that he made this documentary film using a collage of the different facets of Tagore to show that he is still relevant till today. De has used snippets from other films and documentaries and used various pictures, paintings and interviews to answer many questions on the ideals of the greatest writer, the nation has seen. This documentary film of 90 minutes is also a tribute to Tagore, who had made seven visits to Tripura between 1899 and 1926.
