17 injured in two grenade attacks in QuettaQuetta (Balochistan), Nov. 8 : At least 17 people, including a student and security personnel were injured in two separate grenade attacks in different parts of Quetta, the capital of the insurgency hit Balochistan province.

According eyewitnesses, unidentified miscreants hurled hand grenades at the Government Girls’ High School located at Mannu Jan Road during school hours. The grenades landed on the rooftop of the school, injuring two teachers besides wounding a student.

The second attack took place at Meezan Chowk, a busy intersection of the city.

Miscreants lobbed grenades at a check post of the Frontiers Corps (FC) injuring 14 security personnel, The Nation reports.

All of the injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital. Their condition is stated to be out of danger.

The attackers managed to escape.

Talking to media persons after the incidents, DSP city Ghulam Hussain Buzdar said that hand made grenades were used in both attacks.

Buzdar said security has been put on high alert and a dozen more check posts have been established to keep a tight vigil across the city.

No extremist group operating in the region has claimed responsibility for the attacks. (ANI)
