31 New Swine Flu Cases In KeralaAs per latest reports, a person died even as pandemic influenza H1N1 cases kept on increasing in Kerala with 31 more reporting positive on Monday.

A 35-year-old woman breathed her last at Co-operative Medical College Hospiral (MCH) in Kochi.

According to State H1N1 Control Room, the deceased patient was identified as Khamarunnisa Abbas, hailing from Palarimangalam in Kothamangalam.

The 31 new swine flu cases comprised 14 from Thrissur, 7 from Kozhikode, 6 from Ernakulam, 2 from Kannur and one each from Kollam and Malappuram regions.

Swine influenza is an illness by any one of several types of H1N1 virus.

Swine influenza virus is common throughout pig populations globally.

In pigs influenza infection produces fever, tiredness, sneezing, coughing, trouble breathing and decreased hunger.
