Steve Jobs, the Chief Executive of Apple, claimed on Thursday that the company has already sold 450,000 iPads since the gadget was made available for buyers on last Saturday.
Talking to media, Jobs unveiled the information at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California during a session where the company released various details about the new operating system to be used in the two star products from the company's stable, iPhone and iPad.
As per information received earlier, Apple had sold over 300,000 iPads including pre-orders on the very first day of its launch. The sales figures were very much in line with what analysts expected. Further analysts expect one million units to be sold by the end of the current quarter and nearly five million units by the end of the year.
Moreover, launch of iPad has triggered Apple applications too. As Jobs disclosed on Thursday, since Saturday iPad users have already downloaded as many as 600,000 digital books and over 3.5 million applications.
However, the problem related to WiFi connectivity of the gadget, which has surfaced just recently, has made a few aspirants of the gadget adopt wait and watch policy till the company takes some conclusive corrective measures.
