New Delhi, Dec 19 : Aamir Khan's comedy-drama 'PK' has finally hit the theatres and is expected to break several box-office records.

People thronged theatres across India to watch the much awaited Bollywood comedy-drama as the movie is considered as the most anticipated Bollywood film of the year.

"I am anticipating that the film is good. I booked tickets for this show five days ago," said a viewer, Ajay Kumar, outside a theatre in India's northern Lucknow city.

Trailers and publicity stills released in the last few weeks have sparked a guessing game about the plot, with its green-eyed hero said to be an alien or an autistic savant.

Fans said they anticipated a lot from the movie because the craze around it and since Khan, who has a big fan-following in India, starred in it.

"It is after a very long time that an Aamir Khan movie has been released, he comes out about once a year, so his movie is a must watch. There has been a lot of craze about 'PK' this time and I've come here for the first show on the first day of its screening," said another viewer, Neeraj.

Meanwhile in showbiz capital Mumbai, the cast and crew had a special screening of the movie for the police a day before its release.

According to the trade analysts, the storyline and the low-key marketing campaign of the movie will definitely help ' PK' at the box office. (ANI)
