After Consuming Breakfast, 63 Pupils Admitted To Hospital As many as 63 students of a residential school near Mangalore were hospitalized as they developed food poisoning symptoms after consuming breakfast.

The children, who were rushed to hospital when they complained of stomach ache and began vomiting, are, however, out of danger.

These students were studying in a Muslim Residential School at Natekal near Derlakatte.

According to the hospital authorities, more than 14 students were discharged soon from the hospital. The authorities added that all students have been treated and will be sent home by morning.

School principal Shahina Banu said, "The students complained soon after consuming food. We are looking into the matter. We are cooperating with police in their investigations."

It is learnt that the students were served Kadabu and tea for the breakfast at 8 am after which they went to school where they complained of stomach ache and vomiting.

There are 114 students studying in this school. The school has employed 3 cooks to provide food to these students. The students from the Muslim community, coming from different places of the district, study in this residential school.

The school functions under the Social Welfare department of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat.
