Al Jazeera’s latest acquisition- Bosnian TV station Studio 99

Al Jazeera’s latest acquisition- Bosnian TV station Studio 99As the reports confirm, Al Jazeera has supposedly purchased Bosnian TV station Studio 99.

Al Jazeera, the 24-hour English-language news and current affairs TV channel wishes to set up a regional TV centre for the Balkan natives who are located in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo.

Sarajevo's mayor Alija Behmen further stated, "Al Jazeera will establish a regional office in Sarajevo which is expected to lead to the creation of new jobs".

It is also believed that the channel shall take up the local radio and TV channel from the Sarajevo government and intends to construct a public broadcaster for the city. The trade which sees an exchange of €163,000 in lieu of the failed broadcaster has now supposedly been supported by the international TV network.

Dating back to the history, Studio 99 came up as a private radio station in 1992 and gained acclamation for widely supporting the core essence of multi ethnicity and multiculturalism during the nation's 1992-95 war. It was 1994 when the channel started TV broadcasting and since then it widely gained accolades round the globe from various organisations.

However this business deal occurred due to emptying of the funds which were the backbone and hence caused a financial burden leading the channel to file for a bankruptcy.
