Some of the famous titles of the largest selling comic book series of India – Amar Chitra Katha – are now available on the world’s most popular gadgets – iPhone and iPod. The owner of the Amar Chitra Katha, ACK Media has inked partnership deal with the US-based iRemedi Corp to bring the popular titles of Amar Chitra Katha on iPhone and iPod for the worldwide audience.

Currently, some seventeen selected titles of Amar Chitra Katha, including Panchatantra Moral Stories, Mirabai, Ganesha, Buddha, Krishna, The Gita, Rama, Ashoka, Shakuntala, Mirabai, Karna, and Bheeshma, are available in the form of digital comics, at the Apple’s virtual store – iTunes AppStore. The “Tales of Saibaba” is available for free preview. The digital comics are priced in the range of $1.99 — $2.99 (Rs. 94 – Rs. 140 approx.).

The iPhone and iPod Touch users can download the titles of their choice from iTunes AppStore. The users can search iRemedi or Amar Chitra Katha for downloading the digital comics, featuring full colour and high-resolution for iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

The iPhone and iPod Touch users will be able to enjoy the digital comics anywhere and anytime. The digital comics offer panel by panel view, tracks Page numbers, and a slider for fast page navigation. The users will also be able to read them in the slide show format. The digital comics will remember the last read page, if the application or device is shut down abruptly.
