Amitabh Bachchan Is The New Brand Ambassador Of Gujarat

Amitabh BachchanSuperstar of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in as the new "brand ambassador" by the Gujarat government.

In a message to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, Big B conveyed his acceptance and wrote, "You have very graciously considered my appointment as brand ambassador for Gujarat. I accept this offer of yours with great humility. I hope we shall be able to work together for the betterment of Gujarat."

On his visit to Gandhinagar during the last month for a special screening of his blockbuster film 'Paa' for Modi and other top dignitaries Gujarat, seeking tax exemption for the movie, Bollywood legend has showed his keenness to be the brand ambassador of the traditional state.

Mr. Bachchan was full of praise for the progress that took place in the state, and said that Gujarat was a state worth visiting over and over again.

Amitabh also said that he would be pleased to be a part of a documentary film based on Gujarat.

While talking to media persons, he had said, "I would be happy to lend my face and voice for the cause of Gujarat."

"If the government planned a documentary to showcase the state, I would like to be a part of it," he added.

An elated Modi followed up the discussion with an official offer and Big B accepted it.

"Bachchan agreed to Modi's proposal in a letter on January 26. He said he was impressed by the CM's style of working, Gujarat's culture and progress," the sources said.

In his blog, Bachchan admired the chief minister saying "Modi lives simply with mere basic needs, unlike heads of other states. He speaks with affection on development and progress. He is welcoming to fresh ideas and ideals. His oft repeated phrase of him being a CM, a common man, is not misunderstood. He does and acts as he speaks."
