Asus launches Eee Pad Slider tablet

Asus launches Eee Pad Slider tablet Electronics manufacturer, Asus has announced the launch of the Eee Pad Slider tablet computer with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The new tablet is powered a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs Google Android platform. The tablet will come with Abobe Flash, 10 finger multi-touch support and utilities including ASUS Waveface and Polaris Office

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer will be among the first tablet to come with Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Many expect Asus tab to compete well with Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 in US and European markets other than the home Asian market.

The company has released a new teaser video of its Eee Pad Transformer showcasing a glimpse of the new device and its revised exterior design. It now features a new brushed aluminium casing and tapered edges.

The Eee Pad Transformer's screen size is similar to that of Galaxy tab10.1. The display of the two tablets is also of the same 1280 x 800 pixels resolution except that the Asus tablet comes with 160 ppi

Asus Chairman Jonney Shih announced more details about the tablet at the AsiaD event in Hong Kong. Asus' Eee Pad Transformer will be priced at about $500.
