Avaya to sell AGC Networks to Essar

Avaya to sell AGC Networks to EssarEnterprise Communications Systems provider, Avaya announced that it is going to sell 59 per cent of its stake in AGC Networks to Essar Group.

Avaya has agreed for the sale after a long time and the decision has been taken by the IT Company while keeping two ideas in mind.

The first is the strengthening of Avaya's footprint in Indian and also the extension of its channel coverage. The second objective can be achieved with the help of Avaya's global channel program, Avaya Connect.

It should be noted that AGC Networks is one of the key channel partners of Avaya in India and Australia.

However, the transaction is still in the preliminary level and awaits the customary closing conditions. One of the main conditions is that an open offer should be made by Essar Group to the public shareholders of AGC Networks. It is expected that this process alone will take 3-5 months time.

Talking about this, Jangoo Dalal, MD of Avaya India said that the AGC's partnership has been the key for Avaya's growth in India. He further added that this will help both of them to see for a bright future.
