Bajaj Auto records 25 per cent increase in vehicle sales Bajaj Auto announced on Friday that it has recorded an increase of 25 per cent in sales during the month of November. The country's second largest two-wheeler maker sold 3,74,477 units in the month compared to ,99,231 units in the same month of 2010. The company sold 3,31,967 units in the motorcycle segment compared to 2,65,036 units sold in November 2010.

Bajaj said that it exported a total of 1,29,256 units during the month compared to 90,869 units, recording an impressive growth rate of 42 per cent. The sales of the company grew 24 per cent in commercial vehicle segment to 42,510 during the month as against 34,195 in November on 2010.

Mr Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto said that he is concerned about the slowdown trends but said that he is confident that the company will continue to main growth both in the domestic market and in international markets.

"These cycles are inevitable and if you cannot take it, you have no business to be in business. The strength of a company's strategy is visible at the down of a cycle and this is where we are confident of holding our own," he said.

Bajaj Auto is targeting a growth rate of 20 per cent in the financial year and the present situation indicates that it will be able to achieve the target. The company has performed well in the domestic market with Pulsar and Discover emerging as the key growth drivers for the auto major in India.
