Bajaj Auto sales up 34 percent in 2010-11New Delhi, April 4 : Two and three-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto Monday reported 34 percent rise in its sales at 38,23,951 units in fiscal 2010-11 against 28,52,580 during the previous year.

The sales include 12,03,718 units of exports, the company said in a statement.

While the motorcycle sales grew 35 percent at 33,87,040 units, the commercial vehicles sales increased 28 percent at 436,884 units sold during the fiscal 2010-11 as against 340,937 during the previous fiscal.

The company recorded a 12 percent jump in sales at 3,07,738 units during March 2011, compared to 2,74,277 units a year ago.

The bigger and sportier Pulsar and Discover two-wheeler brands constituted 71 percent of the total motorcycle sales, according to the statement.

The commercial vehicles segment, consisting of three wheelers, reported 14 percent rise at 33,349 units against 29,345 units in the like period last year.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange the shares of the company were up 0.45 percent to trade at Rs. 1,452.90. (IANS)
