Bajaj introduces a new three-wheeler cargo vehicle – RE-600

RC Maheshwari, CEO three-wheelers, Bajaj Auto Bajaj Auto, the largest three-wheeler maker of the world, has introduced a new 3 wheeler, dubbed as ''RE-600'', cargo vehicle in India, in a bid to regain its lost market share. The new vehicle, in the commercial three-wheeler segment, is claimed to be both cost-effective and fuel-efficient.

Bajaj's competitor, Piaggio, significantly eroded its market share in the three-wheeler category and forced it to rethink its cargo carrier space. The company has announced its decision to launch more such vehicles in the current financial year, by increasing capacities of its various plants.

RC Maheshwari, CEO three-wheelers, Bajaj Auto said: "I do see that the current capacity of ours is definitely falling short & last week itself we have reached to a level of 30,000 per month, our capacity is 30,000 per month & going forward I think by the year end we have to put in capacity of at least about 35,000 a month"

Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, hailed the use of DTSi technology, saying that the firm will continue to produce vehicles supported by the DTSi technology.
