Rajiv-BajajAt an event where Rajiv Bajaj announced the launch of the BSIII empowered three-wheelers, Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto also shared the fact that the company was ready with the India's most fuel efficient and least-polluting car engine for its small engine being developed in alliance with Nissan.

It is believed that the car will make its debut in 2012, but Rajiv has promised that it will have a better mileage than the Tata Nano.

In fact, Bajaj also said the fact that the company is targeting a mileage of around 30 km/litre. It is believed that the new small car from Bajaj will be competing against the Nano in the Indian market and will surely be priced under the Rs. two lakh tag.

Bajaj also showed much confidence in its strategy of making the product emit less than 100 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) after a kilometre-long run.

It may be noted here that currently, Nano, with a CO2 emission rate of 101 grams to a kilometre, is considered the least polluting car in India and it gives a mileage of 20 kilometres to a litre to the user.
