On Monday, the lawmakers in California, US moved forward a bill, under which beer bikes would be allowed to operate on streets. However, according to lawmakers, the cities will take a decision if alcohol is allowed on board. On Monday, the California Senate passed the bill by Senator Richard Pan, a Sacramento Democrat leader.

The SB530 bill would lead to creation of a vehicle safety standard for the increasing bike buses; it would allow up to 15 people to move at slow speeds. Beer bikes have been welcomed in Sacramento and San Diego as a riding tour, which generally stops at bars and restaurants.

Pan said that the existing state law does not have a definition for this type of vehicle and it leads to legal uncertainties. The new law would help the local governments make a decision if alcohol can be served on board and now, the bill will be voted in the Assembly.

Pan, talks about the bill in detail. He said that the bill will lead to creation of criteria for inspection and safety measures. It will make it compulsory for people to follow some rules while travelling on beer bikes.
