Bharti Airtel inks ‘Multi-Million Dollar’ contract with Manchester United

Bharti AirtelBharti Airtel, India's largest mobile services firm, has signed a five-year, multi-million-dollar content partnership deal with Manchester United, the world's second-richest football club after Real Madrid.

The latest partnership with The Red Devils (nickname of the football club) will give exclusive access to Airtel's 9.40 crore subscribers across India, Sri Lanka and Seychelles for United's football content over mobile.

In addition, Airtel users will also get an opportunity to participate in the Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) programme, which is currently operated by Manchester United Merchandising.

Presently, MUSS Programme runs in Hong Kong, Seattle, Toronto and Dubai as well as Manchester.

Further under the deal, Airtel customers will also get an opportunity to watch football matches at United's home ground at Old Trafford, Manchester and travel to Europe to watch the club play the UEFA Champions League.

The scrip of Airtel closed on Friday at Rs 767on BSE, down 2% or Rs 11, compared to previous close of Rs 778.
