Bill Gates comments on Steve Jobs

The new Steve Jobs autobiographical book 'Becoming Steve Jobs' tells about Microsoft founder Bill Gates' opinions regarding Jobs. Gates has admired Jobs and showed a lot of respect for him. However, he still spoke about the intellect of Jobs, and also the mistakes committed by him. Gates also spoke about Jobs's showmanship.

According to Gates, "I was never in his league. I mean, it was just amazing to see how precisely he would rehearse. And if he's about to go onstage, and his support people don't have the things right, you know, he is really, really, tough on them".

The book tells how Jobs used to take care of every aspect of the new product presentations. It has also been told in the book that how he worked with the PR and marketing teams, prepared the presentations properly until he was satisfied. Gates said that he even used to feel pressure to perform big tasks. He added that still Jobs managed to do the things and that is a very impressive point.

Writer Brent Schlender, who writes for the Wall Street Journal and Fast Company, together with Rick Tetzeli, the executive editor of Fast Company, wrote the autobiographical book. Apple executives are quite happy with the book and they have appreciated the work by Schlender and Tetzeli.

Schlender and Tetzeli wrote in the book that Jobs often used to resist the critical software development community the wrong way, when the Mac was being developed. But it is not possible to reveal the complete story through any book, whether it is authorized or even super authorized.
