Blackberry issue to be solved soon, says minister

A-Raja-BlackberryThe long time tussle between Indian government and Blackberry's owner, Research In Motion is expected to be over in another two-month's time. This was said by the Central Minister for Communications, A Raja.

Said A Raja while talking to media that the Home Ministry has already extended the time frame for dialogue with RIM and the same is being periodically reviewed.

The government had threatened to ban BlackBerry saying that it has security issues involved with it. While the talks have been going on for quite long, no proper decision has been reached till now.

Earlier the deadline was to stop the services by August 1 but the deadline was shifted till September 1. The government is demanding to keep a watch on the email services of the company.

The pressure on the government is that the CommonWealth games and banning the services now will greatly impact the communication abilities during the event.

In another statement Raja said that the department will also be providing relief to those companies which had applied for 2G services in 2008. There is a lot of controversy going on in this issue.
