Bremen, Germany - Tim Borowski's recovery from a back problem is taking longer than expected with the German international midfielder not now expected to return to training for at least two weeks, his club Werder Bremen confirmed Friday.

"At the moment, Tim is doing some bike work and fitness exercises. It would be difficult for him to return next week," said Bremen assistant coach Wolfgang Rolff.

However, teammate Torsten Frings has recovered from a bruised foot and will be able to resume train on Monday. (dpa)
