BPO for media space initiated by Ambani Group’s Adlabs FilmsA Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) unit for the media space has been initiated by the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's cinema and entertainment services company - Adlabs Films. The BPO, announced by the company on Thursday, will abide by the Motion Pictures Association of America Standards.

According to a company release, the BPO - to be extended over 90,000 square feet; and to employ 1,200 people within a year - is being projected as one of the world's biggest, all-inclusive facility focused on two chief areas: digital restoration and content processing.

India's largest chain of cinemas, the Adlabs Films has already has secured orders for 1,000 films preserved by the Pune-based National Film Archives of India. The company will render its services to transfer the priceless footage from analogue to digital and from physical to digital media.

In fact, during the last four-month period, Adlabs has been putting on the air a number of films over its optic fiber network to distribute films in the US. As such, the company's gates have been thrown open for similar services in India for international clients.

Talking about the expanse of the Adlabs' venture, CEO Anil Arjun said: "Globalization of media services is well underway. Coupled with the optical fibre network, the comprehensive services of media outsourcing enable a distinctive and complete offering to Adlabs' worldwide clients."
