British Infertility Clinic Inaugurates Its Centre In KochiBritain-based Bourn Hall, the globe's first in vitro fertilization health center set up by groundbreakers Professor Robert Edwards and Doctor Patrick Steptoe in the year 1980, Thursday opened its initial Indian centre in Kochi, Kerala.

The new assisted conception health center in Kochi will offer up an assortment of fertility cure services to the same high ethical and quality standards determined by Bourn Hall Clinic in Britain.

Mike Macnamee, chief executive, Bourn Hall Clinic made this declaration.

Mr. Mike stated that bringing the Bourn Hall treatment services India, is a breakthrough towards the dream of the founders, of making fertility cure commonly available to all who necessitate it.

"Infertility is a universal problem. We will open more clinics in India in the next few years. Our second clinic will be in Delhi," Mke added.

Others present during the launch of the Kochi clinic comprised Peter Brinsden, group medical director, Bourn Hall International and president of the British Fertility Society.

It was Edwards' pioneering work with Steptoe that resulted in the birth of the globe's first 'test-tube' baby Louise Brown July 25, 1978.

During the last year, Edwards was honored with the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the evolution of the IVF system.
