Canada needs to have a trade agreement with China, expertsExperts have said that the authorities in Canada must look to forge a trade agreement with the government of the People's Republic of China in order to strengthen trade ties.

In order to boost economic growth, the government of Canada should look at promoting its banks, automotive sector and other products that are not linked to construction. Chinese firms have also been encouraged to look for consumer-led growth instead of depending upon the construction boom.

The government of China indicated that it will soon conclude government-determined interest rates and warned that it will begin more profound reforms in the economy. This indicates that the country will not have easy availability of credit in the economy. Experts have said that the Chinese economy is expected to grow at 7.3 per cent and 6.9 per cent, respectively.

It is widely believed that the economic growth in the Chinese economy is softening and the government there is focusing on developing the domestic market in order to reply on the country's large market for future growth instead of the export market. Peter Harder, president of the Canada China Business Council said that Chinese economy is shifting but it won't be commodities versus consumer products in the future.
