Chandigarh’s Barbeque Nation hosts African food festivalChandigarh, Dec 12: A restaurant in Chandigarh recently organized an African barbeque food festival, which was not just about experiencing food, but also about the passion, which was truly African.

The "African Barbeque Festival" at Chandigarh's Barbeque Nation created an experience, which revolved around the thematic decor, uniform, music and last but not the least the fire-eaters in and around the restaurant.

The festival offered sumptuous barbeque delicacies to the guest in a completely unique ambience.

"Generally people believe that there are lots of jungles in Africa. The main motive of this rally was to show excitement. The meaning of `Hakuna Matata' is "no worry", and through this rally we wanted to show how these people (Africans) enjoy and dance after hunting. The guests are appreciating this concept a lot," said Pramod Mukati, Business Manager of Barbeque Nation.

The Indian chefs, who were specially trained by African Chefs, prepared an array of dishes like Peri Peri, Harrissa and Zulu coriander to go with Marguez, sosaties and soya sausages.

The guests appreciated the entire festival and enjoyed watching the flourishes by the bartenders as well.

"It's nice. This is one of the restaurants that are trying to do something different. I mean all the restaurants probably server either dal makhni, paneer and all, so this is a kind of different place and ambience is nice. It has been decorated according to the African traditions and at least you can try different food from different places, so that's nice to see," said Puneet, a food enthusiast.

Preet Dhaliwal, another food enthusiast, said: "The food was excellent, superb and experience was very new something very out of the way and its very innovative also because due to this you can taste the real African food. You can have the real feel and all these dances and everybody participating in it. It was really cool and the music and drums that are outside, all was good."

The African delights served with style made the festival a grand hit. And, the chain of restaurants - Barbeque Nation is now planning to hold similar festivals in their other outlets. (ANI)
