Cheryl Cole dismisses split from ‘Girls Aloud’ rumours

London, Sept 21: ‘Girls Aloud’ singer Cheryl Cole has rubbished all rumours about her quitting the band.

The entire buzz started when songwriter Alison Clarkson, formerly known as Betty Boo, claimed in a radio interview that she was asked to pen a song for Cheryl because she wanted to have a solo career.

“I’ve been asked to write for Cheryl because she’s gonna start on her own, I think, because she asked for me. We’ll see what happens,” the Sun quoted her, as saying.

But when Cheryl was asked to comment on Alison, she said: “It’s sad that people have to say these things to get a little bit of publicity off the back of us. I’m not sure why anyone would think I would want to work on a solo album now”.

Assuring fans that she was very much part of the band, she used the opportunity to talk about the band’s upcoming album.

“We’re still finishing the new album, which I have to say is our best yet,” she said. (With inputs from ANI)
