Chevrolet’s 2014 Impala base model to cost $27,535 In a Friday announcement, General Motors (GM) revealed that Chevrolet's all-new 2014 Impala flagship sedan will hit the markets in 2013; with the base model of the new vehicle to cost $27,535; underscoring a price-tag which is higher than that of the 2013 base model by $850.

While the base model of the 2014 Impala will be a 2.5 liter LS model, the next in line will be a the 2.5L LT model which will be priced at $29,785. The top-of-line model will be the four-banger 2.5L Impala LTZ, which will cost $34,555.

The newly-designed 2014 Impala will be available in three engines: 2.5L I4, 3.6L V6, and 2.4L I4 mild hybrid. It will be the 3.6L version which will be first available in the showrooms when the new sedan makes its debut in spring next year. The 3.6L model will be priced at $30,760 for the LT; and will cost $36,580 for the LTZ model.

According to GM, the 2014 Impala - which will be manufactured in assembly plants in Oshawa, Ontario, and Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan - will boast new looks; new safety technology for the Chevrolet brand; and a notably more chic interiors than the previous models.

Noting that, for the all-new 2014 Impala, Chevrolet will "build on the success the Impala nameplate has generated over its history," Chris Perry - Chevrolet's VP of marketing - said: "We've added sophisticated design features, more technology and safety equipment, while conserving Impala's current strengths like spaciousness and comfort."
