Congress –Shiv Sena activists clash in MumbaiMumbai, Sep 25 : Supporters of the ruling Congress and the Shiv Sena clashed in Dadar area of Mumbai, on Friday.

The clash took place between these party workers while they came in support of their respective candidates while filing the nominations to the state assembly polls.

Friday was the last day to file nominations.

Trouble began when Shiv Sena candidate Aadesh Bandekar and his supporters objected to the vehicles parked by the state minister Narayan Rane outside the returning officer''s office.

Sena supporters raised slogans against the Congress leader for breaking the rules.

Rane reacted stating he had parked the vehicle 200 meters away and he didn''t violate any rules.

"I have ''Z'' plus security and a person holding ''Z'' plus security with bullet proof car is allowed to enter. However my car was outside and the returning officer sits 200 metres away from where it was parked. The car didn''t enter the gate. Police told us to take it in but we didn''t," said Rane.

Rane also said that the Sena showed its frustration as Congress had accepted MLA Sada Sarvankar who was earlier denied ticket by the Sena for Assembly polls scheduled to be held on October 13.

However, police, brought the situation under control. (ANI)
