Dakshina Kannada police launches website with IVRS in Mangalore

The Dakshina Kannada District Police has launched official website, DKPolice. org and an Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS), in Mangalore, on Wednesday.

The assistant director of the information department, Mr. Rohini K, launched the website. DK Superintendent of Police, Dr. A Subramanyeshwar Rao has informed that the website contains a host of features including a Blog, crime related information and the services provided by the District Police. Moreover, the crime information of the district police which was earlier available on the site blog, will not be functional from now onwards.

The website provides a detailed map of the district and helps a person in finding out the police station jurisdiction. The portal has been designed to impart various facilities including, filing online complaints, checking for the status of the already filed complaints, notifications, tenders, contact details of all officers and security tips. The new site also informs about the history of DK police and the names of all the 126 SPs of the district.

A person can get the details and photographs of wanted persons, missing persons, unidentified dead bodies, lost or found property, crime statistics, frequently asked questions and the important laws, from the crime section of the website.

The SP, Mr. A S Rao informed that with the help of Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), which has been launched with the site, public will be able to register complaints by dialing 0824-2424204, all across the district.

While giving details on IVRS, Mr. Rao said that the people will need less than a minute to file their complaints, which will be checked twice a day and the concerned officers would visit the spot, in order to verify the complaint.
