Dell to tie up with Baidu to develop tablets and mobile phones Dell has said that it will tie with China's premier search engine, Baidu to develop tablet computers as well as mobile devices.

Baidu is showcasing its own upcoming Android-based mobile platform called Yi and also already launched a new mobile application platform last week. The platform is now available for to developers and works as a suite of tools to create mobile apps integrated with existing Baidu products.

"We have a partnership with Baidu and you know we have the Streak 5 tablet, so the partnership will be in that space," said a Dell spokeswoman. The two companies will also work together in the mobile handset market.

Dell has not announced the launch date of the products from the partnership but some reports suggest that it will be available by November.
