London, Feb 15 : The latest instalment in Bruce Willis’ action franchise ‘Die Hard’ has been largely panned by critics.

The Hollywood Reporter, who reviewed ‘A Good Day to Die Hard,’ called it “Last is least,” while The Scotsman labelled it as a “limp parody” of the 1988 original, the BBC reported.

Los Angeles Times critic Kenneth Turan asserted that the sense of exhilaration and fun that marked the best of the series has gone unaccountably AWOL.

USA Today’s Claudia Puig said that the obnoxious, over the top and often dull result constituted a feeble attempt to rehash action-hero glories.

Empire’s Kim Newman admitted that a trip outside the US did the franchise few favours adding that few reasonable action sequences are mired in family soap.

Reviews were not published until the day of the release at the request of the film’s distributor 20th Century Fox.

Willis latest outing as John McClane sees him join forces with his adult son Jack (Jai Courtney) to protect a Russian whistleblower with links to a nuclear conspiracy. (ANI)
