A conflict occurred in Mangalore on the issue of an isolated new born between media and a doctor as well as staff of a nursing home on KS Rao Road on Thursday late night.

The incidence took place when a person working in a vernacular news channel visited Jayashree nursing home believing on the information passed on to him that an isolated new born baby was found within nursing home premises. Sources told that in the presence of other media persons, doctor Jayaprakash started fighting with media men, abuse them and even took video camera from his hand and asked officials to take away the new born inside the premises.

The whole incidence was reported to Mangalore police and sub-inspector Manjunath of Mangalore north police station arrived at the place and get hold of the situation. He has filed case against doctor for mishandling their duties and forcefully attacking the media men and also for snatching the camera.

The whole episode is criticized by Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists' Association. They also express their disapproval on the doctor's misbehavior with the media. They have asked police to carefully investigate the entire issue and take necessary actions to prevent the recurrence of such events.
