EBay unveils redesigned logo

EBay unveils redesigned logo On Thursday, eBay executive Devin Wenig took the wraps of the company's new, re-designed logo, which has essentially been transformed from `bubbly' to `sleek,' while retaining the company's much-identifiable colors --- red, blue, green and yellow.

Unveiling the redesigned eBay logo, Wenig - president of eBay Global Marketplaces - said that the new logo clearly reflects a shift that the online marketplace has undergone over the years; by turning into a full-priced buy-it-now merchandise, instead of being focused only on auctions and collectibles.

With the `eBay' letters in the new logo being notably thinner and more streamlined than the earlier logo's somewhat jumbled look, Wenig said that the redesigned marque retains some parts of the eBay brand history, along with reflecting the company's transformation into an up-to-date and reliable marketplace which offers a horde of buying and selling experiences

Noting that the re-designed eBay logo - which will rolled out across all the company's websites and channels this fall - clearly reflects "eBay today," Wenig said that the new logo conveys the idea that present-day eBay is a "global online marketplace" which offers "a cleaner, more contemporary and consistent experience."

About the re-designed logo, Wemig said in a recent email to the eBay employees that changing the logo was a well-thought-out decision because eBay logo is known all over the world; and added that the company decided to redesign the logo because "the time felt right."
