E-challaning system in HaryanaThe Haryana government has determined to initiate an e-challaning system for enhanced management of traffic regulations in the state.

According to Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Home Department, Krishna Mohan here today, the E-challaning system might entail of a computer-based centralized catalog of vehicles, driving licenses and traffic infringement and hand-held stuffs with the field personnel to offer them real time connectivity with the pivotal server.

He added that early 4,500 people are slaughtered in Haryana in road crash per year. At the moment, the accountability of implementing the traffic regulations is in the state and is with the traffic police and Transport department. The arrangement of enforcement of traffic regulations is physical. Going astray vehicles or drivers are subjected to paper challans.

The system being physical, the police representatives have no right of entry to the precedent traffic infringement history of the vehicle or the driver, he added. Mohan also expressed that there being no efficient record maintaining of payment of fine by the nonpayer’s, the traffic policeman did not know about whether the vehicle was stolen or caught up in any crime. The e-challaning system might assist in resolving all these issues and also in implementing traffic rules efficiently in the state.
