Eshan crashes out of badminton championshipIndia’s Eshan Naqvi has crashed out of the men’s single event in the junior Asian badminton championship, while his four compatriots stormed into the pre-quarterfinals round in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.  

Eshan was defeated by the second seeded Le Ha Anh of Vietnam in straight sets by 5-21, 19-21.

P.C. Thulasi also crashed out after going down to his Japanese opponent Mitani Minatsu by 21-7, 21-8.

Meanwhile, H.S. Prannoy registered win over the Korean Lee Sang Min by 21-15, 22-20 to advance into the pre-quarterfinals and Sumeeth Reddy outplayed Ng Ka Long of Hong Kong by 21-19, 21-16.

Sikki Reddy survived a scare by Korean Shin Seung Chan to emerge victorious by 12-21, 21-13, 21-18, while Saili Rane defeated Nguyen Thi Mai Anh of Vietnam 21-14, 21-13 in the women’s singles event.

In the men’s doubles event, H.S. Prannoy and Sumeeth Reddy duo has defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Khac Tuan and Bui Quang Tuan by 21-11, 16-21, 21-12 to storm into the pre-quarterfinals.
