Family of Ratko Mladic wants him to be declared legally dead

Ratko-MladicAs per to the Serbian media, the family members of ex-Bosnian Serb chief of army Ratko Mladic aged 68 wants the official to declare his death. They have asked the authorities to declare him legally dead.

After the declaration his wife would be able to sell the properties that belonged to Ratko. After that she will be able to receive the pension.

This man was the most wanted for International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) for the Yugoslavia war crimes. He was alleged of having connection with the Bosnian war in 1992-1995. Mladic has faced a charge of genocide and since 1995 he was playing hide and seek with the ICT.

The lawyer of the Mladic family has insisted that a request could be made for his suppose death if missing person was over 70 years old and there is not any reliable information about that person for more than five years.

The lawyer has also said he will submit a motion in the Serbian Court for this matter. The family wants to pursue this motion as they are facing prosecution.
