London, November 5: English researchers have found that the wrists do not play a critical role in the perfect, long-distance golf swings.

Robin Sharp, an engineer at the University of Surrey, says that how and when the power develops is the key to distance.

His analysis is based on a computer model in which a golfer uses three points of rotation: the shoulders relative to the spine, the arms relative to the shoulders and the wrists relative to the arms.

The Nagpur Police Commissioner, Praveen Dixit, confirmed reports of JeM threat to ace cricket player Sachin Tendulkar stating, "The Central government has issued a high-alert for Sachin...They have information that the JeM has issued a threat to him."

However, keeping in mind the terror threats on the Aussies, he took a U-Turn and said, "There is no specific threat to any individual player and there is no threat input".

He further added that the security arrangements would be usual and uniform.

New York - Two competitors in last Sunday's New York City Marathon have since died, organizers confirmed Tuesday.

A 58-year-old man from Brazil collapsed after crossing the finishing line and later died at the Lennox Hill Hospital while a 66- year-old American, who walked the distance, suffered a heart attack several hours after completing the race.

"There's nothing harder for us than when one of our participants doesn't make it home at the end of the day. We express our deepest condolences to the athletes' families," said Mary Wittenberg, president of the New York Runners.

London - Ashley Young, regarded as one of England's rising stars, has extended his contract with Aston Villa, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old forward, who has won three England caps, signed a new four-year deal, tying him to Villa until the summer of 2012.

Young joined Villa in January 2007 from Watford for almost 10 million pounds (16.1 million dollars).

London - Newly-crowned world champion Lewis Hamilton is looking to win at least two more Formula One drivers' titles but the McLaren-Mercedes driver feels Michael Schumacher's tally of seven remains out of his reach.

"I don't plan on winning seven world championships - that's a little bit much for me, I think. Michael can keep that record," Hamilton said in an interview with the BBC.

Melbourne, Nov 4 : Former Australia captain Mark Taylor has said that current skipper Ricky Ponting should have known better than to become embroiled in an ugly on-field spat with Brett Lee.

Ponting and Lee were involved in a heated exchange during the second Test against India when the pacer was not given a bowl on the fourth morning of the match.

Australia maintained the reason for overlooking Lee was because of a slow over rate, but it was clear Ponting, who even turned to the rarely used medium pace of Mike Hussey, had lost confidence in his spearhead, who has struggled through the entire campaign.

Taylor, now a Cricket Australia board director, said the Australian skipper should have shown greater discretion.
