London, Nov 1: Ace Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed to win over the Manchester United fans, just like he did after the 2006 World Cup.
The United winger has faced the wrath of supporters after making no secret of his desire to join Real Madrid in the summer.
Ronaldo returned a villain from Germany two years ago for his part in Wayne Rooney’s red card — and the infamous wink to the bench in Portugal’s win over England.
London, Nov 1: Ronaldinho has backed LA Galaxy star David Beckham’s loan switch to AC Milan.
England ace Beckham will join the Italian giants from LA Galaxy in January to keep up his fitness levels during the MLS off-season.
And Brazil star Ronaldinho, who signed for AC Milan in the summer, cannot wait to play alongside Beckham.
“He’s a great champion. I hope he’s happy with us. We’ll take turns taking free kicks. I’ve met him in the past and I have always been struck by his class,” The Sun quoted Ronaldinho, as saying.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani claims Beckham’s arrival is a dream come true.
It was certainly a good day for India as two of its top players, Saina Nehwal and RMV Gurusaidutt reached to the semi-finals at the World Junior Badminton Championship.
In a close encounter match, fifth seed Guru Sai Dutt defeated second seed Park Sung Min (Korea) 21-16, 14-21, 21-19. With this win, the 17-year-old Gurusaidutt has became the first Indian male shuttler to reach the semi-finals of the men’s singles.
Los Angeles - Chris Bosh took care of the offense and made sure his Toronto Raptors teammates handled the defense down the stretch.
Bosh had 31 points with nine rebounds, and the Raptors won their season home-opener by dominating the Golden State Warriors in overtime for a 112-108 victory on Friday night.
"We just got to play tough down the stretch, that's really what it's all about," said Bosh, who scored 14 points in the final quarter and overtime.
"We knew we had to jump on them. That's what overtime is all about, especially when you're at home," he added. "We jumped on them early. I told them, 'Look, we don't worry about offense. If we stop them we're going to win the game.'"
A fine knock of (73 n. o.) by opener Shahriar Nafeez in the ICL 20s Indian Championship match at Tau Devi Lal Stadium led to a comfortable win for Dhaka Warriors over Chandigarh Lions.
